Materials are selected in context, with consideration given to colour, texture, maintenance and how the driveway will weather over time.

Drainage, levels and access

Driveway drainage should be considered from the beginning rather than solved at the end. Poorly managed water can collect against the house, run towards neighbouring land or gradually damage the surface and foundations.

We carefully assess existing levels and create appropriate falls, channels or permeable solutions where required. We also consider practical details such as turning space, vehicle clearance, gate positions, pedestrian routes and comfortable access to the front door.

These details help ensure the driveway works naturally in everyday use rather than simply looking good when first completed.

Softening the hard landscape

A large driveway can easily dominate the frontage of a property. Thoughtful planting, defined borders and carefully positioned trees or shrubs can soften the surface and help it sit more comfortably within the wider landscape.
